About Osman House

The service is located in Scholes, approximately seven miles north of Leeds city centre.

Facilities

Osman House has sixteen ensuite bedrooms and well-appointed communal areas, including a lounge, dual-use kitchen, and dining area. There is also a private garden, patio, and summerhouse to the rear.

Our specialist care and support services incorporate an individually tailored programme, and we aim to support people to maintain the rehabilitation goals they have previously achieved.

Our rehabilitation models

At Osman House, we support people with an acquired brain injury who have already undergone intensive rehabilitation and who need specialist care and support in a residential setting and/or people who have longer-term support needs to maintain their rehabilitation goals and independent living skills.

The programme may include:

  • Educational and therapeutic sessions
  • Support for personal, social, and domestic skills
  • Guided leisure time
  • Behavioural management
  • Community access
  • Vocational support and training

The people we support are actively involved in reviewing their progress against agreed outcomes, and we promote the involvement of families in the rehabilitation process. Home leave is encouraged wherever possible.

Becoming more independent

Scholes has a range of community facilities, including shops, a community centre, places of worship, educational facilities, a park, tennis courts and a bowling green. Buses run regularly to Leeds and other neighbouring towns, where there is a wealth of leisure and cultural activities. These locations also offer opportunities for education and work placements. Being so ideally situated contributes to community integration.
